The Velenje-based white goods manufacturer Gorenje has reported a net loss of 6.4 million euros for the first time since 2009.
The Gorenje Group recorded 929.5 million euros in sales revenue over nine months, which is a decrease of 2.7 percent compared to last year. The management, led by Franjo Bobinec, explained that the weaker results are due to increased transportation costs and the costs of relocating production from Finland to the Czech Republic. In September, they received more orders again, including new products, and this trend continued in October and November.
Larger orders are particularly coming from countries where Gorenje achieves high profitability, such as Ukraine, Russia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia. Therefore, Gorenje believes that it will end the year 2012 with a profit.
