The Ministry of Tourism has recently announced a public call for the identification of development tourism projects eligible for financing from EU structural funds in 2013 and in the financial perspective from 2014 to 2020.
The public call, through expressions of interest from tourism project holders, forms a database of projects that are evaluated based on the documentation collected so far and defined co-financing sources necessary for project implementation and application for EU structural funds. The aim is to identify eligible, well-prepared projects that will be directed towards opportunities for further institutional and financial support for applications for EU structural funds.
Three Groups Projects are divided into three groups: public and business tourism infrastructure and human resources in tourism. Eligible projects in public tourism infrastructure include infrastructure for the development of congress tourism; sports-tourism infrastructure, themed tourist parks; routes and paths (gastronomic, wine, cultural, historical, cycling) and infrastructure for the development of health and cultural tourism as well as tourism in protected natural areas.
Project applicants can be municipalities, cities, counties, and the state (their companies), regional and local tourist boards, public institutions of national parks and nature parks, and others.
Eligible tourism projects in business infrastructure include projects of basic and additional hospitality-tourism facilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (accommodation facilities: guesthouse, hotel, campsite…)
