Tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock, the final verdict for Croatian generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač is expected to be announced in The Hague, while veterans plan a vigil tonight in the main square of Zagreb and a joint listening of the verdict via video wall in the morning.
According to Večernji list, around 2000 veterans passed through the city in a procession this afternoon, and they were welcomed by another five hundred citizens in front of the Zagreb Cathedral, where they attended mass together.
In the procession were retired generals Damir Krstičević and Josip Lucić, as well as Željko Sačić and Branko Borković Mladi Jastreb, and Miodrag Lemo from the City Office for Veterans. Among the prominent Zagreb politicians seen were the President of the City Assembly Davor Bernardić, HDZ representative Danira Bilić, and Mayor Milan Bandić.
