At the 6th Assembly of Croatian Builders, opened today at the Croatia Hotel in Cavtat, more than 550 participants from Croatia and the region gathered, with the central theme being Construction – a Lever for Development.
As emphasized by the president of the Organizing Committee, Rade Pilipović, the assembly will discuss the state of construction and its role in the development of the Croatian economy, as well as construction as a potential for development and the ways in which it has competed in both domestic and foreign markets.
The president of the Scientific Committee of the assembly, Stjepan Lukšić, stated that participants will address energy and railway infrastructure, with one of the topics being the Pelješac Bridge – an alternative solution. Special attention will also be given to the issue of highways.
– Construction workers expect incentives from the state, and we have many projects related to ecology, water supply, drainage, and waste management, said Pilipović, noting that it is important to consider that construction is one of the most important segments of the country’s development.
He reminded that due to the crisis, the number of builders has fallen from 130,000 to about 70,000, but such a decline, he added, has also occurred in other European countries. One of the topics that participants will address will be the infrastructural issues of the city of Dubrovnik, and there will also be discussions on construction issues regarding meeting the conditions for work in the EU.
