Domestic Startups in London’s Tech City

Ten Croatian startups will visit London’s Tech City from November 15 to 17, where they will familiarize themselves with this innovative European hub for technology and digital companies and investors, known as the ‘digital center of Europe’.

This was announced at today’s press conference at the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which is covering the majority of the costs of this trip.
During this visit, Croatian startups will present their companies and products to potential investors at the popular Google campus, which operates within Tech City, and network with companies that are already doing business there.

The uniqueness of Tech City lies in its specific ability to provide potential for the development of innovative businesses of all sizes, and it is already home to leading global technology companies such as Google, Facebook, Intel, and Amazon, as well as leading British incubators Seedcamp and Springboard and investment funds. On the occasion of this visit, the British Ambassador to Croatia, David Slinn, emphasized that Tech City is a successful model that can be replicated in other countries with the aim of supporting startups and innovative companies focused on new technologies.

In addition to the British Embassy and UK Trade&Investment Croatia, the visit of Croatian startups to Tech City is co-organized by ZIP – Zagreb Entrepreneurship Incubator, BICRO – European Entrepreneurship Network, HAMAG Invest, and the company Netokaracija. The startups that will visit Tech City are Hipersfera, Eye Know, Mash.me, Code Anywhere, Sidekickr, Once, Rimac Automobili, SmartRM, Trillenium, and PhotoPay, and they expect not only to get acquainted with Tech City but also to receive concrete offers for their ideas and projects.

A startup is a company that, like any other, seeks its business model to become profitable, and it differs from others in that it is usually a small company with technological projects that have significant growth potential. Their ‘goods’ are mostly software that can be produced and reproduced quite cheaply.
