The contract for the allocation of four million kuna for the construction of infrastructure in the entrepreneurial zone Barban-Krvavci was signed today in Barban by the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts Gordan Maras and the Mayor of Barban Denis Kontošić.
The incentive funds will be used for the construction of sewage systems, water supply, telephony, and public lighting on ten hectares of the zone, which is the first phase of the construction of an entrepreneurial area with a total size of 30 hectares.
“For this Government and for me as the Minister of Entrepreneurship, it is important that such projects are realized in entrepreneurial zones and that people are employed. At this moment, 14 plots have been sold in the zone, and when the state and the municipality invest money in something like this, it pays off because you have new jobs,” Minister Maras stated, adding that the Government will continue to support such projects and that only this year, 42 million kuna has been invested in entrepreneurial zones in Croatia.
In the municipality of Barban and generally in Istria, there is a lot of potential not only for tourism but also for manufacturing facilities, primarily due to the proximity of countries that are already in the European Union, so with Croatia’s entry into the EU, we expect more exports, concluded Maras.
The Mayor of Barban, Denis Kontošić, stated that a facility of the company “IZO”, which deals with the production of equipment for bakery production and hospitality as well as generators, will open in that entrepreneurial zone by the end of the year.
