There were no new proposals following the Bled meeting of Croatian and Slovenian experts regarding the issue of Ljubljanska Banka, held in early October; however, in Bled, the negotiators, addressing the media, expressed their opinions, positions, and agreed proposals, emphasizing that there are no discrepancies among them, states Croatian financial expert Zdravko Rogić.
The reason for his comment today is the reports of certain ‘communication disturbances’ between Zagreb and Ljubljana regarding some new proposals for resolving the dispute over the old foreign currency savings of Ljubljanska Banka.
Croatian and Slovenian financial experts preparing proposals for resolving the issue of transferred savings at Ljubljanska Banka, Zdravko Rogić and France Arhar, have held three meetings so far, with the last meeting taking place in Bled on October 4.
– There were no new proposals after the Bled meeting of France Arhar and Zdravko Rogić held on October 4 of this year. However, in Bled, the negotiators, addressing the media, expressed their opinions, positions, and agreed proposals. They emphasized that there are no discrepancies among them – Rogić points out. He emphasizes that their concept had two components.
– The first was of a multilateral nature – support for the initiative of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Vesna Pusić, to send a joint letter to the Bank for International Settlements in Basel requesting that the bank agree to once again be the sponsor of a new round of negotiations among the successor states of the former SFRY in accordance with Article 7 of Annex C of the Agreement on Succession Issues – says Rogić, reminding that the two negotiators offered to personally engage to facilitate the negotiations.
