The star of this year’s Seiko Premier collection is the new Premier Double Retrograde Chronograph. The Premier Double Retrograde Chronograph measures time with an accuracy of 1/5 second, displaying it on two dials.
This collection and its models are often referred to as traditional and modern at Seiko, as exceptionally advanced calibers are hidden within traditionally shaped cases. The Premier collection has been loved in Europe, and in recent years it has become popular worldwide, and the same will be true for the latest model, presented at this year’s Basel.
The Japanese watch giant is part of the Seiko Epson corporation, but when it comes to the development and production of watches, this company is completely independent. Seiko produces all types of portable watches, and in its vast collection, it includes mechanical watches with manual and automatic winding, quartz watches powered by batteries and solar energy, or with the original mechanical Kinetic drive, as well as the revolutionary Spring Drive hybrid technology. This smart blend of mechanical energy and electronic regulation is reserved for Seiko’s top models.
Among these top models is the Grand Seiko line, which features watches that enjoy cult status among international collectors. For the fiftieth anniversary of Grand Seiko, the company, based in Tokyo, has assembled an interesting collection of numerous new models and presented them for the first time in the European market. Watches from this collection are not available at all Seiko sales points, but they are at the most profitable ones. Today, most models from the Grand Seiko collection consist of mechanical, manually wound, and automatic watches.
