Bloomberg’s list of the 20 richest people in the world who pull the strings of the global economy collectively holds 713.4 billion dollars, led by America Movil owner Carlos Slim.
In second place is 57-year-old Microsoft founder Bill Gates, worth 64.4 billion dollars, followed by 76-year-old Spanish billionaire and Inditex founder Amancio Ortega.
Warren Buffet, with his wealth of 48.4 billion dollars, ranks fourth on Bloomberg’s list of the 20 richest people in the world.
Also in the top five is Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad, whose wealth is estimated at 41.8 billion dollars.
Next are Charles and David Koch from Koch Industries, each holding 38.6 billion dollars.
Larry Ellison from Oracle is worth 37.2 billion dollars and is in eighth place on Bloomberg’s list, followed by Christy Walton (Wal-Mart) with 30.5 billion dollars, Jim Walton (Wal-Mart) with 29.3 billion dollars, and Rob and Alice Walton (28.7 and 28.2 billion dollars).
In 13th place is Li Ka-Shing from Cheung Kong Holdings with a wealth of 27 billion dollars, and the list also includes Mukesh Ambani, Liliane Bettencourt, Stefan Persson, Jeff Bezos, Bernard Arnault, Larry Page, and Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud.
