The Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries has elected and appointed Vesna Gašpar as the director of HAKOM for a four-year term starting at the beginning of next year and ending at the end of 2016.
The current director, Dr. Dražen Lučić, will serve until the end of his term, which is until December 31 of this year.
Vesna Gašpar graduated in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split and is employed at HAKOM. Through her work at the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries and its legal predecessors (Telecommunications Institute, Croatian Telecommunications Agency) since 2002, she has contributed to the development of liberalization and regulation of the electronic communications market in Croatia. She participates in numerous international activities such as preparing negotiations on the EU acquis or working with European bodies responsible for electronic communications. She is an expert in market regulation.
