Solutions for Local Government

At the panel Partnership of Entrepreneurs and Cities, companies Rasco , Libusoft Cicom, Vojtek, APIS IT, and Redox presented solutions that can assist local government.

The team of engineers from Rasco worked for three months on the development of the multifunctional vehicle Muvo, which premiered this year at the international municipal fair IFAT in Munich. It was produced in Kalinovac, at the family-owned company Rasco, which employs 200 staff, of which 45 are highly educated engineers. The first unit was sold to Norway in October this year. As Krešimir Kašnar from Rasco stated during the presentation of this solution for cities and municipalities, it is a ‘worker that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and at the same time serves as a winter service, spreader, snowplow, and on nicer days, a street vacuum cleaner, cleaner that washes streets, and it can also mow and simultaneously collect grass.’ The vehicle is smaller in size, weighs 3 tons, has all-wheel drive, and a turning radius of less than 3.5 meters.

Rade Ignjatović from Libusoft Cicom presented a solution for managing the assets of local government units. The problem, Ignjatović emphasized, is the disorganized state, but they approach the problem through 11 steps – determining the number and type of real estate, ownership, classification of assets, valuation of assets, income and expenses of assets, calculation of the capitalization rate, deregulation of rentals, monitoring of subsidies, reporting on assets, consolidated management, and finally, a strategic asset management plan. The asset management model is used by the city of Osijek, and the head Milan Kamenko explained that they started the project in 2006. Forty employees have been trained to work in the real estate register, and the project is currently halfway through, with completion expected in one to two years.

The solution for effective waste sorting was presented by Pavle Vojtek from the company Vojtek. They offer 350 types of products, and approximately 40 new ones are adopted annually. These are proprietary solutions from the company that help in organizing cities.
– All local government units have containers and methods for waste collection. However, our solution is eco-islands that encourage waste sorting – emphasized Vojtek.

Sanja Batić from APIS IT spoke about experiences related to the development of local spatial data infrastructure and presented various solutions to support local government. She introduced the attendees to the Zagreb geoportal for searching local spatial data among interested groups, detailing the possibilities and data available on that portal. It is intended for both professionals and the general public.

The solutions from the company Redox, which specializes in the production and equipping of children’s playgrounds, were presented by Vjekoslav Lovrić. The company also provides spare parts and services the equipment. Their main customers are cities, municipalities, local councils, construction companies, and they have worked on playgrounds at rest areas on highways and gas stations. They also offer branded playgrounds, meaning they add the names of the companies that ordered the playgrounds to the equipment.
