Croatian entrepreneurs will no longer have to give their companies only Croatian names.
As reported by Novi list, by the end of the year, amendments to the Companies Act will be brought to parliamentary discussion, which will allow our companies to include words from English and other foreign languages in their names, it has been confirmed to our newspaper by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts.
– We will propose that the names of companies not be exclusively in Croatian, and the reason for this change is Croatia’s imminent entry into the European Union, said Gordan Maras, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Crafts. Croatia is becoming part of the global economy, so our entrepreneurs should not be restricted in their choice of company names, says Maras.
The latest legal amendments are being prepared in response to complaints from numerous entrepreneurs, primarily exporters and companies engaged in consulting services, or operating in the field of information technology. They believe they will be more recognizable in foreign markets if they can choose English names, which are particularly widespread in the field of IT.
