After two days of growth, the Crobex indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange today lack the strength to continue rising despite the positive sentiment in European markets, although trading volume is slightly higher than yesterday.
The Crobex index was slightly down around noon, by 0.02 percent, at 1,767 points, while Crobex10 was up 0.22 percent, at 994 points. Regular trading in shares reached 5.3 million kuna, which is 2.3 million higher than yesterday at this time.
– Despite the rise in stock prices on European exchanges following Barack Obama’s victory in the U.S. presidential elections, the Crobex indices today lack the strength to continue rising. Trading is slightly higher than yesterday, and the shares of HT, Zagrebačka banka, and Ericsson Nikola Tesla are in the spotlight of investors – says Nigela Bubalo, a broker at the investment company Credos.
On European exchanges, stock prices have risen today, as investors hope that Barack Obama’s continued presence in the White House means the continuation of an accommodative monetary policy.
The London FTSE, Frankfurt DAX, and Paris CAC indices are currently up between 0.6 and 0.9 percent. In the domestic market, the highest turnover by noon was achieved by HT shares, amounting to 1.6 million kuna, with its price rising by 1 percent to 213.2 kuna. Following is the share of Zagrebačka banka, with turnover close to one million kuna. Its price jumped by 1.35 percent to 37.5 kuna. Also in greater focus for investors is the share of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, which achieved a turnover of 717,000 kuna by noon, and its price strengthened by 0.3 percent, reaching 1,275 kuna.
Among the more liquid issues, the share of Petrokemija stands out with a price increase of nearly 2 percent, while the share of Dalekovod is down by 1.74 percent.
