Blocked Croats Owe 15.68 Billion Kuna

Due to unpaid payment bases totaling 44.58 billion kuna at the end of September, 73,853 business entities and 236,342 citizens were blocked with a total debt of 15.68 billion kuna, announced the Financial Agency.

The total value of unpaid payment bases for business entities was 1.2 percent higher compared to the end of August, while the debts of citizens were 190.9 million kuna lower compared to the previous month, according to data published by Fina on its website.

Of the total number of blocked business entities, 38,975 are natural persons employing 39,944 workers, with overdue unpaid obligations totaling 36.6 billion kuna.

Also blocked are 34,878 natural persons engaged in registered activities (i.e., craftsmen) with a total of 23,079 employees, and their debts amount to 7.9 billion kuna.

Among business entities, those in long-term blockage continue to dominate. The number of insolvent business entities in blockage longer than 360 days, as well as the amount of their unpaid payment bases compared to August, is slightly higher, with the number of business entities increasing by 0.8 percent and the amount by 1.3 percent.

In blockage for up to 60 days, there were 3,873 business entities, which is 237 more than in August, and their debts increased by 96.1 million kuna, totaling 1.03 billion kuna.

More than three-quarters of business entities in blockage have been blocked for more than 360 days, and the amount of their blockage accounts for 82.2 percent of the total debt.

Among business entities in long-term blockage (longer than one year), those blocked for five years or more dominate, accounting for 36.8 percent.

Of the total 73,853 blocked business entities, just over half are legal entities, which account for the largest part of the total amount of unpaid payment bases, or 82.2 percent.

Among illiquid legal entities, the smallest amount of reported overdue unpaid payment bases for a duration of 31 to 60 days is 329.4 million kuna, while the largest for legal entities in continuous blockage for more than 360 days is 29.5 billion kuna.

Compared to the situation in August, the number of insolvent legal entities in long-term blockage increased by 0.7 percent, and the amount of their unpaid payment bases by 1.3 percent.

A large portion of legal entities (77.4 percent), or 23,258, which are in long-term blockage, are legal entities without employed workers, and their total debt amounts to 17.8 billion kuna.

78.3 percent pertains to natural persons engaged in registered activities in blockage for more than one year.

The smallest amount of reported overdue unpaid payment bases for illiquid natural persons for a duration of up to 30 days is 35.2 million kuna, while the largest for those in continuous blockage for more than 360 days is 7.2 billion kuna.

Among natural persons who are long-term blocked, 60.7 percent or 16,590 are without employed workers, and their total debt amounts to 4 billion kuna.
