The fifth round of fundraising, which enables college education for young people without adequate parental care as part of the humanitarian action Step into Life, has begun with the awarding of scholarships to the fourth generation of beneficiaries.
In the hall of Ilirian Renaissance, 33 beneficiaries received scholarships, thus the Step into Life action now supports 121 scholarship holders in their studies at higher education institutions of their choice.
Alongside the beneficiaries, sponsors, and representatives of the Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol, which initiated the action, the awarding of scholarships was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Policy and Youth, Milanka Opačić. On behalf of the Rotary Club Zagreb Kaptol, the Club President, Marjan Jurleka, emphasized: “Life has presented the young people gathered here today with significantly greater challenges than those faced by their peers. However, despite all obstacles, through their perseverance, independence, work, and effort, they have made a significant step into adult life and enrolled in college.
As studying carries numerous responsibilities and obligations, including financial ones, I am truly glad that even in times of crisis, there are those who help these young people on their path to becoming academically educated citizens.”
