As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Political Science, the first Croatian student television, Television Student, will begin broadcasting on Tuesday (November 6) at 7 PM. The launch will start with a live broadcast from FPZG, where a ceremonial opening of the television will take place.
The television will feature programs “Academic Quarter” and “Alter Ego,” while the rest of the programming will initially be filled with archival contributions from students of the TV studio.
Television Student was initiated by professors and students of the Faculty of Political Science, and the project will collaborate with the Academy of Dramatic Arts. In addition to the mentioned institutions, the project organizers have connected with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, as well as other faculties that they believe will also be part of Television Student.
“This is not a classic television but a house that will grow, and we hope that every month will be different and better,” said Igor Mirković, the editor-in-chief of Television Student, at a press conference regarding the project presentation.
The opening of the first student television was largely financed by FPZG with the help of Iskon, the American Embassy, and the company AudioVideoConsulting, with an investment of between 300,000 and 500,000 kuna.
“For ten years we have been playing television, and now the time has come to launch it,” said Tena Perišin, the project manager of TV Student.
Television Student will be available in the basic package of Iskon TV and through the Iskon TV Player, which allows viewing television programs via computers and mobile devices.
