Have you worked abroad? Contact HZMO regarding your pension

The Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) today called on individuals who have worked abroad and meet the conditions for acquiring the right to a pension from Croatian insurance within the next five years to submit a Request for the determination of insurance periods completed abroad at the regional offices of the Institute, according to their place of residence, in order to enable a faster realization of their right to a Croatian pension.

– The period confirmed by the foreign insurer in countries with which a social security agreement has been concluded is added to the period completed in Croatia to meet the required insurance period for acquiring the right to a pension from Croatian insurance – states HZMO in a press release.

It also invites future retirees to notify HZMO of their intention to retire at the age of retirement or early retirement six months before submitting the pension application (which can be submitted no earlier than two months before the cessation of insurance) and to initiate the so-called pre-completion of data process to realize their right more quickly when they submit their pension application. The notification is submitted to the competent regional office of HZMO.

Through the ‘user pages’ on the HZMO website www.mirovinsko.hr (after obtaining the appropriate username and password), individuals can also send a request for an informative pension calculation, as well as fill out and send the Notification for data pre-completion, along with accessing their personal data.

Along with the completed Notification, it is necessary to attach the work book or a certified copy of the work book, a statement, or evidence of the insurance period completed abroad if the insured person worked abroad, as well as other evidence of the period that has not been fully established or recorded in the work book.

The forms ‘Request for the determination of insurance periods completed abroad’ and ‘Notification of the intention to submit a request for recognition of the right to retirement or early retirement’, as well as the conditions for retirement and contact numbers, are available on the website or at the regional offices and branches of HZMO, and additional information can also be obtained at INFO phones – 01/ 48 91 666 and 0800 63 63 63 (toll-free number for calls from Croatia) on weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, as stated in the press release from the HZMO Public Relations Department.
