In Croatia, there were a total of 1,385,263 employed in September, which is 19,349 persons or 1.4 percent less than in August, according to preliminary data released today by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
Of this, 1,140,166 were employed in legal entities, which is a decrease of 8,044 persons or 0.7 percent compared to August.
The number of employed in crafts and freelance professions decreased by 4.9 percent on a monthly basis, with 216,887 employed at the end of September, which is 11,121 persons less than in the previous month.
The number of agricultural insurance holders in September fell by 0.6 percent compared to August, leaving 28,210 agricultural insurance holders at the end of September.
At the same time, the number of unemployed increased in September. The Croatian Employment Service recorded 311,100 unemployed at the end of September, which is an increase of 9,517 persons or 3.2 percent on a monthly basis.
The registered unemployment rate rose from 17.7 percent in August to 18.3 percent in September. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics provides a year-on-year comparison of the number of employed only for legal entities, where the number of employed at the end of September this year was 2.6 percent less than in September last year.
