The trial of former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and the HDZ in the ‘Fimi media’ case continues with the examination of witnesses Zdenko Kolaček and Zvonko Fišer.
During the last examination, the director of the company Mibel, Željka Trubić, testified that Fimi media ordered furniture from her company for the HDZ headquarters and the party’s electoral headquarters worth 700 thousand kuna. In addition to the HDZ, she also procured furniture for the Customs at the recommendation of Nevenka Jurak, who was led by the then HDZ treasurer Mladen Barišić. However, for each agreed job, the witness allegedly had to pay Nevenka Jurak a commission of 20 to 25 percent.
We paid her the commission by having Fimi media deliver fictitious invoices to our company for some leaflets and mobile phones that we never received, the witness recalled.
The director of the company Spin plus, Dario Bačić, recounted how his company, through Fimi media, supplied promotional materials for the HDZ, as well as public companies such as HEP, HAC, Croatian Forests, and the Croatian Lottery. Among the posters they printed for Customs were materials for the ‘Stop Corruption’ campaign.
