The cooperation agreement for the realization of the Hotel Sport Delnice project, with a total value of nearly 23 million kuna, was signed today by the acting Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Vidoje Vujić, Delnice Mayor Marijan Pleše, and the director of the Gorski Sports Center Damir Majnarić.
This project involves the reconstruction and repurposing of the ‘old’ Health Center building in Delnice into Hotel Sport Delnice, which will have a four-star category, with the Gorski Sports Center as the investor.
Hotel Sport Delnice will be the first mountain-sports hotel in Croatia with a four-star category. It will feature 39 rooms with 84 beds, restaurants, a café bar, meeting rooms, saunas, fitness facilities, a pool, a shop, a souvenir store, and more.
The owner of the land and the ‘old’ Health Center building is the City of Delnice. The project is being realized based on a decision from 2009, whereby the City of Delnice committed to enter into a construction rights agreement with the Gorski Sports Center for the repurposing of the ‘old’ Health Center into a hotel.
The county has so far co-financed the preparation of project documentation with 118 thousand kuna, secured 345 thousand kuna for 2012, and will allocate 215 thousand kuna in the following year.
Vujić also visited the Delnice Primary School Ivan Goran Kovačić today, where a biomass boiler worth around four million kuna was put into operation.
This is the first such boiler in Croatia, which will ensure a new heating method that will reduce costs, increase energy efficiency, and decrease harmful gas emissions.
In Mrkopalj, Vujić visited the Mrkopalj Primary School and handed over a new van for student transportation, worth 173 thousand kuna.
The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County has procured 12 vans for all 10 schools in the Gorski Kotar region since 2003.
