According to information from Jutarnji list, the company King ICT has signed contracts with the state worth an incredible one billion kuna over the past five years.
They signed 28 contracts with the Ministry of the Interior. Twenty-two were through direct negotiation. They are worth even 117,839,950 kuna, and were concluded for the procurement of IT equipment, licenses, system maintenance…
They also made a lucrative deal with HEP. For 13 contracts related to the supply and maintenance of IT equipment, they earned 105,226,101 kuna.
Contracts with the aforementioned company were signed by another 16 ministries, 17 state agencies, and 15 public enterprises. The former HDZ government signed a total of 378 contracts with them, of which 59 were concluded through direct negotiation, and the total value of all signed contracts amounts to exactly 925,496,252 million kuna.
King ICT is a subsidiary of M SAN Grupa, the largest distributor of computers and consumer electronics in Croatia. This company was founded by entrepreneur Stipo Matić back in 1995, and the group achieved a revenue of 246 million euros last year, according to business records.
Jutarnji list notes that the most well-known employee of the company is retired HV general Damir Krstičević, one of the closest associates of HDZ president Tomislav Karamarko. Krstičević was the director of the company from 2001 to 2004, and today he sits on its Supervisory Board.
Entrepreneur Stipo Matić is a member of the Prsten association, which gathers Croats from BiH. As the media has already reported, this association supported Tomislav Karamarko in the elections for the head of the largest opposition party.
