Atlantska plovidba at the group level recorded a decline in total consolidated revenues of nearly 14 percent in the first nine months and operated with a loss of 20.1 million kuna, primarily due to losses in the maritime sector, according to the unaudited consolidated financial report released today by the group.
Total consolidated revenues in the first nine months amounted to 413.8 million kuna, which is 13.9 percent lower than in the same period last year. At the same time, expenses reached 433 million kuna, which was 0.1 percent lower than last year.
The loss attributable to the shareholders of the parent company amounted to 20.1 million kuna. In the maritime sector, the loss was 31.8 million kuna, while in the hotel and agency sector, a profit of 11.7 million kuna was achieved.
For comparison, in the same period last year, a profit of 43.4 million kuna was recorded.
As stated in the financial report, the loss in the maritime sector was expected, slightly lower than planned, as a result of historically low freight rates in the global dry cargo transportation market, while the profit from other group activities exceeded expectations due to a good tourist season.
At the end of September, Atlantska plovidba had a fleet of a total of 16 ships, with an average age of 6 years, and a total deadweight tonnage of 880,364 DWT, consisting of 14 bulk carriers and 2 heavy lift vessels. Within the tourism sector, the group has stakes in the Grand Hotel Imperial (81.57 percent), Hotel Lapad (99.66 percent), and Atlant travel agency (100 percent).
