On the feast of the Three Kings, on Thursday, December 6th at 7:15 PM, a Christmas and New Year concert will be held at Zagreb Cathedral featuring soprano Mira Šimić accompanied by organists Marijana Vrhovec and Katarina Javor, violinist Vedran Kojić, and special guest, the Klapa Cesarice.
The program will include traditional and contemporary Croatian Christmas songs and carols, as well as the most famous Italian, French, English, and German spiritual classics such as ‘Gesù Bambino’, ‘Stille Nacht’, ‘Mary’s Boy Child’, and ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sing’. Mira Šimić has had successful performances in Croatia, particularly at the Zagrebfest, Split Festival, and Dora festivals, as well as in musicals at Zagreb theaters Komedija and Žar ptica, and abroad (in the Caribbean, Great Britain, Canada…).
The Klapa Cesarice has been at the top of the klapa scene for 18 years and is a recipient of many awards at both international and domestic competitions. They are also the owners of four Porin music awards received for three sound recordings.
