Croatian Highways (HAC) will finance the construction of a bridge over the Drava with a loan of 130 million euros, it has been learned from HAC.
The public tender for the procurement of a loan service in the amount of 130 million euros was announced by HAC in the electronic bulletin of Narodne novine and on its website. The deadline for submitting bids is February 16, 2011. The purpose of the loan is to finance the construction of a bridge over the Drava River on the section Beli Manastir – Osijek, on the highway Beli Manastir – Osijek – Svilaj – Ploče, which is part of the European Corridor Vc, HAC stated in response to Hina’s inquiry about the use of loan funds.
The transport corridor Vc stretches from Budapest through Sarajevo to Ploče, connecting northern, central, and eastern Europe. In Croatia, it runs as the A5 highway from the border with Hungary west of Beli Manastir to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina at Svilaj, with a length of 88.6 kilometers, and as the A10 highway from the border with BiH at Mali Prolog to Ploče, with a length of 23 kilometers. The highway from Sredanci to Osijek is in operation, with a length of 55.5 kilometers.
