Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP) announced today that it has signed an annex to a long-term gas supply contract with INA, defining the conditions for the supply of this energy source in 2011.
"The contract guarantees Hrvatska elektroprivreda a stable supply and sufficient quantities of gas throughout the next year," the statement reads, without disclosing any other details. HEP is one of the major gas consumers, and for the upcoming year, it has reportedly contracted the usual quantities of gas, which means about 700 million cubic meters of gas that HEP consumes annually.
Neither HEP nor INA is willing to disclose the price at which they have agreed on gas supplies for the next year, noting that it is a commercial contract, and thus the price is a business secret. HEP is the second major consumer that has reported signing a contract with INA, specifically its company Prirodni plin, for gas supply in 2011. Last Friday, December 17, Kutinska Petrokemija also reported signing a contract with Prirodni plin for gas supply for 2011, which consumes about 600 million cubic meters of natural gas annually. (H)
