The company Končar – Generators and Motors has signed a contract in Istanbul for the supply of complete electromechanical equipment for the Turkish hydroelectric power plant Aslancik, valued at approximately 22 million euros, the company reported.
The contract, which was signed yesterday, includes two generators with a capacity of 66.6 MVA along with the associated equipment. The company states that the contract was won in an international tender amidst very strong competition and is proof that despite the ongoing effects of the global crisis in the energy sector, Končar is managing to maintain its position in the demanding global market. In addition to confirming competitiveness against the strongest global companies in generator manufacturing, this contract also signifies entry into a rapidly growing new market, which has been confirmed by direct invitations to offer equipment for new projects in Turkey, emphasizes Končar – Generators and Motors.
