The snowstorms that paralyzed airports in the French capital will cost Air France-KLM between 25 and 35 million euros, the airline’s CEO announced on Tuesday.
The costs incurred over the weekend amount to approximately 15 to 20 million euros, said Pierre-Henri Gourgeon to radio station Europe 1. "We already had a weather-related episode a few weeks ago, which caused us costs between 10 and 15 million euros," he added. Gourgeon apologized to passengers for the disruptions in air traffic and praised the airline’s employees, who, as much as they could, assisted clients in difficult situations. Delays and cancellations of flights due to extreme weather conditions significantly affected traffic at the two main Parisian airports on Monday evening. (H)
