The Zagreb City Assembly is discussing the proposal for the city budget for the next year at its last session of this year.
On the agenda are taxi drivers, Zagrebparking, and the remediation of Cibona. Mayor Milan Bandić reiterated yesterday that he will not abandon the property census in determining kindergarten prices, but it has been modified compared to the first reading and will benefit socially sensitive categories. He noted that according to the new proposal, more than a quarter of citizens will have free public city transport and accommodation for children in kindergartens. When I list the unemployed, retirees, disabled individuals, family members of fallen defenders, voluntary blood donors, schoolchildren and students, children with developmental difficulties, a total of more than 215 thousand. This means that the city of Zagreb will subsidize 100% of the amount for these categories through the philosophy and spirit of this budget, said Bandić.
This year’s budget Bandić describes as wise, developmental, fair, and socially responsible. He expects the management of Zagreb Holding to be more rational and economical and to work harder. When asked how he comments on the announcements of a strike in the Zagreb Electric Tram due to the non-payment of Christmas bonuses, Bandić said he hopes there will be no strike and that ZET and Holding will find common ground and that drivers will be aware of the situation we live in.
