On behalf of the organizers, the editor-in-chief of the business weekly Lider, Miodrag Šajatović, greeted the attendees, emphasizing that the tradition of rewarding the bravest continues. – We waited almost the entire year and wondered whether the situation in the capital market would change before these awards were presented. At the end of the year, INA happened, and the stock market finally revived, Šajatović pointed out, adding that the stock market is a true reflection of what is happening in the economy.

The president of HGK, Nadan Vidošević, emphasized the need to open space for public and private capital, which will certainly lead to the growth of Crobex. He also pointed out that we need responsibility in monetary policy and the removal of traditional bureaucratic obstacles.

Emil Tedeschi, CEO of Atlantic Group, received the plaque for the Golden Share and stated that it is proof that the strategy, transparency, and direction in which Atlantic Group is heading are well accepted in the capital market. Private and institutional investors believe in the prospects of Atlantic Group. It also shows that the largest IPO in the region in the last ten years, that of Atlantic Group, was executed excellently and performed outstandingly. This award is therefore both recognition and obligation for them. – I am proud of this award, but I am not happy. Croatia is in a difficult situation. We are working in a poor and low-quality environment.

In Croatia, the level of corporate governance and transparency is at the level of illiquidity that prevails, Emil Tedeschi expressed his view on the state of the economy and the capital market. He points out that there is a noticeable crisis of governance at all levels and that the fight against corruption must continue.  – A society that has reached a breaking point needs to be cleaned and to bring in people who can and know how to move forward, Tedeschi believes, emphasizing that we need wisdom and unity more than ever. – I call on all those who can speak wisely and transparently about the future of Croatia to come together and unite to find a way out of this difficult situation, Tedeschi conveys.

The Minister of Economy, Đuro Popijač, congratulated the award winners on behalf of Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and stated that good signals are coming from the European Union regarding shipbuilding. – I believe we will succeed in closing Chapter 8 and also save shipbuilding, Popijač stated. He also highlighted the role of the Government in promoting excellence and opening space for investments and announced that the Government will fulfill its role in this regard.    (Zlatko Salahović)
