The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor, stated that the Government is on the trail of a solution regarding MOL’s offer, which will be in accordance with the strategic and national interests of Croatia.
"We, who have been working on this for a long time, believe that we are on the trail of a solution and we are confident that it will be realized in accordance with the strategic, or rather national, interests of Croatia," said Kosor in a statement to reporters ahead of the ceremonial academy of the Croatian Parliament. Reporters were interested in whether the Government has any new legal solutions related to the status of MOL and relations with MOL. "I believe you have all seen the statement from the Ministry of Economy; everything is written in it, it just needs to be read carefully," said Prime Minister Kosor.
The Ministry of Economy announced today that the Croatian Government does not renounce the right and possibility of adopting different legal and institutional solutions regarding the status of the contracting parties, as well as the protection of strategic interests in the energy sector. The Government’s positions also emphasize that the Croatian Government will respect and execute all formal agreements and contracts, and will accept informal agreements with all investors whose goals and intentions align with the Government’s objectives in terms of protecting ownership, investment, and management in the energy sector.
