According to the Salary Survey by the MojPosao portal, in 2010, the best-paid jobs were in companies whose primary activity is pharmacy – salaries in these companies are 37 percent above the average, followed by IT – software development and maintenance where salaries are 27 percent higher than the average.
The lowest salaries were recorded in activities related to sports and recreation (16 percent below the average) and in the Agriculture, Forestry, šunting, and Fishing sector (18 percent below the average). In 2010, the best-paid engineers had salaries 21 percent higher than the average. They are followed by employees in maritime and natural sciences, whose salaries are nine percent, respectively eight percent above the average. This year, the lowest-paid auxiliary professions (social workers, defectologists, speech therapists, etc.) and the profession of commercial intermediaries and sellers have salaries 45 percent and 56 percent below the average, respectively. By counties, the lowest salaries this year were recorded in Krapina-Zagorje (16 percent below the average) and Bjelovar-Bilogora County (15 percent below the average), followed by Virovitica-Podravina (14 percent below the average) and Vukovar-Srijem County (11 percent below the average).
