The Energy Association of Zagreb has established the National Information Center for Investment in Energy and Environment and related EU issues after more than six months of intensive preparations, according to a press release.
– Familiar with the shortcomings of active and systematic monitoring of all economic issues of the European Union related to energy and the environment and opening up opportunities for strategic investments in Croatia in these economic sectors, we initiated the establishment of the National Information Center. We aim to position this center as a key organization in the national system of related economic topics, whose primary role is to inform, develop, and implement programs focused on energy, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and environmental protection with the goal of strengthening technological development as a driver of sustainable economic growth in the country, stated Tomislav Marjanović, President of the Energy Association of Zagreb. The Information Center will provide its users with information on Croatian legislation, EU legislation, and all developments in legislation and EU programs in the priority areas of energy and the environment, and will systematically and systematically consolidate information on potential investment opportunities in energy and the environment in Croatia. – The center’s operations will significantly depend on active cooperation with higher bodies of the European Commission, such as the Committee for Environmental Protection or the Committee for Energy. In this way, we want to provide successful and effective support for applicable research, technological and innovative development up to the commercialization phase by connecting economic topics crucial for the development of energy, renewable energy sources, promoting energy efficiency, and environmental protection, as well as strengthening the national innovation system and the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, stated Marin Pasarić, Secretary General of the Energy Association of Zagreb. The official start of operations of the National Information Center is announced for January 1, 2011, and it is estimated that by then it will gather several dozen leading energy and environmental divisions from across the EU.
