The Croatian gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of this year increased by 0.2 percent in real terms compared to the third quarter of last year, according to the first estimate released today by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
This marks the first growth in quarterly GDP after six consecutive quarters of negative rates. The Croatian GDP fell by 2.5 percent in both the first and second quarters of this year compared to the same periods last year. Croatia has recorded negative GDP rates since the beginning of last year, and in 2009, GDP fell by 5.8 percent in real terms compared to 2008. The DZS today released the first estimate of quarterly GDP, and the Bureau announced that a complete report on the GDP estimate for the third quarter of this year will be published on December 31, 2010.
