The Government Dismisses Danica Ramljak for Not Allowing the Storage of Radioactive Waste in Zagreb

Danica Ramljak is likely counting her last days at the helm of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB). According to Večernji list, the government is working against her because she refused to implement a decision from December 30, 2009, made in a closed session, which would make Ruđer the central location for the storage of radioactive waste. In other words, the director refused to allow all radioactive waste generated in Croatian hospitals, institutes, and economic entities to be stored in the middle of Zagreb, in a district with schools, colleges, kindergartens, family homes…
