Agrokor Wines in the American Market

Agrokor Wines, the largest wine producer in Croatia, will soon offer its products to American consumers, with the first shipment of two containers of Croatian wines departing from the port of Rijeka for the American market, the company reported.

This shipment includes 15 different labels of quality and premium wines from Agrolaguna, Podrumi Belje, Istravina, and Iločki Podrumi. According to an agreement reached with the importer in April of this year, wines from these cellars will be available in several smaller retail chains as well as in restaurants and other hospitality establishments in 40 states across the USA. New, special labels for the American market are being prepared for the next shipment, which is planned to be delivered by the end of this year. According to Goran Galić, the export director of Agrokor Wines, this is just the beginning of cooperation with distributors on the American continent, as a new wine export agreement has been arranged for another American partner for the beginning of next year. They expect that in the following year, exports to the US market will account for at least 10 percent of Agrokor Wines’ total exports. Croatian wines are generally present in smaller quantities in the American market, mostly consisting of labels from family wineries. (H)
