EBRD Loan to Montenegro for the Purchase of New Trains

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a loan of 13.55 million euros to the Railway Transport of Montenegro (ŽPCG), which will be used for the procurement of new electric trains, announced the chairman of the company’s Board of Directors, Rešad Nuhodžić, to journalists.

"The money will be used for the purchase of new electric trains, as well as for hiring consultants who will oversee the entire process of preparing documentation and contracting until the actual delivery of the new compositions," said Nuhodžić. According to him, the preparation of documentation should be completed by the end of March next year, and a public call for the procurement of trains should be announced. "The procedure for the duration of the call should last two months, and upon completion of that process, depending on the bidders, we will know what the delivery timeline for the vehicles will be and at what pace," Nuhodžić explained, adding that the first trains could be expected by the end of next year.  (H)
