The 37th International Furniture, Interior Design and Related Industries Fair “Ambienta” will be held at the Zagreb Fair (ZV) from October 13 to 17, featuring more than 450 exhibitors from Croatia and 22 countries, it was announced at today’s press conference by ZV.
As highlighted by ZV Director Mirela Bartolec, the Ambienta fair is the strongest fair project of ZV. Project manager for fairs Nada Banek stated that over the last ten years, Ambienta has become a brand and the most significant specialized fair of ZV. Of the total 456 exhibitors who will present at Ambienta this year, 182 are from abroad, while the rest are domestic exhibitors, whose number has increased by ten percent compared to last year, she said. Ambienta is a fair event that the wood industry and furniture industry do not miss, Banek noted, citing a survey conducted at last year’s Ambienta, which indicated that the fair represents a business event for the majority of Croatian producers and traders in the wood industry. Thus, 87 percent of exhibitors showcased new products, while 72 percent were satisfied with the business results achieved.
Banek reminded that the wood industry is export-oriented, with a surplus in this industrial sector amounting to 100 million US dollars last year, and 176 million dollars in the first eight months of this year. Exports in this sector increased by 11 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period last year, while imports fell by 20 percent. It was also highlighted that this year, furniture exports are growing more than the average of the overall wood industry, having increased by 13 percent. A series of business meetings and round tables will be held as part of Ambienta, with the most significant among them being the Business Club, a traditional meeting of entrepreneurs from the wood processing sector with government representatives. The theme of this year’s Business Club is “The Potential of the Wood Industry and Forestry Sector in the Recovery and Growth of the Croatian Economy.” There will also be a round table on the topic of Croatian offerings through branding of domestic products, followed by a round table on the certification of domestic products, the use of funds from EU funds, etc. As part of Ambienta, the “Mobil optimum” award for quality products will also be presented, along with quality recognitions for highly rated individual products. Representatives of companies participating in Ambienta (Inkea, Eduro, and Himola) emphasized that their participation in this fair is important for promotion, to showcase to the public all the innovations they offer.
