The Croatian Society for Palliative Medicine today marked World Hospice and Palliative Care Day at the premises of the Medical Faculty in Zagreb.
According to Dr. Veljko Đorđević, Croatia launched the Center for Palliative Medicine and Medical Ethics at the beginning of this year, and the Center will soon begin activities to equip the facilities located within the Dermatology Clinic at the Medical Faculty. – Here we intend to establish an institution that will care for patients suffering from chronic physical illnesses, and our goal is to properly care for such patients who may suffer from depression and other mental illnesses – said Đorđević. To raise funds, the Center will organize a fundraising dinner at the Sheraton Hotel and will hold a scientific conference at the end of November where palliative care will be discussed. (S. M.)
