Podravka today responded via the Zagreb Stock Exchange to the media report stating that ‘the Hungarians with 10.64 percent of shares are the largest owners of Podravka’, emphasizing that the statement made by the President of the Management Board of Podravka, Miroslav Vitković, was misinterpreted.
"The President of the Management Board of Podravka stated that there is a possibility that based on signed contracts, OTP could become the owner of 10.64 percent of Podravka’s shares; however, there are still a number of actions that need to be taken by OTP in order for this to be realized. It is important to say that both sides, namely Podravka and OTP, want to resolve the current situation peacefully and various models of solutions are being considered," Podravka stated in response to the article published in Večernji list, according to which Vitković confirmed that OTP is now the owner of Podravka. The newspaper reported today that on October 1, OTP banka and MOL acquired 10.64 percent of shares that Podravka’s managers deposited with the company Fima Ami in the operation "Spice" for "protection against hostile takeover", thus making the Hungarians the largest individual owners of the Koprivnica company.
