The company Geofoto today signed two contracts with the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration of Romania, worth 4 million kuna. The contracts cover the realization of consulting services for projects under the common title “Establishment of a Modern Geoinformation System for Spatial Information Management,” the company stated in a press release.
The goal of the first project is to establish the Romanian National Agency for Cartography, which will be responsible for the production of spatial information in accordance with the INSPIRE directive of the European Commission. The second project will establish a Research Center within the National Agency. The deadline for the execution of these projects is six and four months, respectively. The Zagreb-based company Geofoto, as a leading European company in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics, will lay the foundation for the National Spatial Information Infrastructure of Romania with these strategically important contracts, the company stated. The entire project is financed by the Kingdom of Norway, and its execution will be monitored by the Norwegian Agency for Geoinformatics Statens kartverk. With the signed contracts, Geofoto opens up the possibility of securing new contracts worth 200 million kuna, the press release states.
