This morning at 8:21 AM, the first freight train organized by Alliance Cargo 10 departed from the Paraćin station in Serbia, as reported by Croatian Railways. High-ranking state officials and railway directors from Serbia, Slovenia, and Croatia will ceremoniously send it off for its inaugural journey today at 12 PM at the Batajnica station.
Croatia will be represented by Danijel Mileta, State Secretary in the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure; Zlatko Rogožar, Director of HŽ-Cargo; and Oliver Krilić, Director of HŽ-Train Traction.
The first train consists of 32 freight cars loaded with wooden briquettes intended for the Italian market. The train loaded with briquettes will operate weekly, and the contract stipulates the transportation of 50,000 tons of this cargo annually. The distance from Paraćin to Sežana will be covered by the freight train in twenty hours, which is about ten hours shorter than before. According to HŽ, this is the first job secured thanks to a joint offer, competitive prices, and acceptable delivery times. The freight train from Paraćin to Italy will stop at the border station Tovarnik between 3:20 PM and 3:42 PM, and in the evening it will stop at Zagreb West Station where customs formalities will be completed before continuing its journey to Slovenia. Croatian Railways reminds that the purpose of the joint Slovenian-Croatian-Serbian company Cargo 10 is to optimize railway freight transport on the X corridor, increase the number of freight trains to redirect part of the cargo from the IV corridor to the X, as well as from road traffic to railway tracks.
