After slight initial gains, the indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange turned direction during morning trading, primarily influenced by negative movements in European markets, and with the already customary low liquidity, only the stocks of HT and Atlantic Group stand out in terms of turnover.
Domestic stock indices today, as well as on Friday, oscillate between positive and negative territory. The Crobex index was slightly down by 0.37 percent at 1,914 points at 12:00, while Crobex10 was down by 0.67 percent at 1,006 points. Regular trading reached 3.4 million kuna, što is 1.6 million less than on Friday at this time. "After slight initial gains, domestic stock indices turned direction, primarily influenced by negative movements in global markets. The poor sentiment in European markets could last until the end of the day, as even better-than-expected investor confidence index in the Eurozone failed to deter investors from profit-taking sales that followed a strong performance of stocks in September", says Maja Bešević, portfolio manager at Podravska Bank. The investor confidence index in the Eurozone for October stood at 8.8 points, strengthening from September’s 7.6 points. It also exceeded economists’ expectations, whose consensus was 8 points.
