Emporia Telecom plans 100% sales growth in Croatia for 2011

Emporia Telecom, a global manufacturer of mobile phones for seniors, presented the new emporiaElegance mobile phone model on Thursday in Zagreb.

Eveline Pupeter-Fellner, CEO of Emporia Telecom, announced ambitious plans for the Croatian market on this occasion. The company, which she leads, has only been present in the market for a year, during which 15,000 different models of mobile devices were sold. The fact that they expect a lot from the new model is evidenced by the plan to sell 30,000 devices in the Croatian market in 2011, which represents a 100% increase compared to the previous year. The target group is consumers aged 45 to 70 years.

– We are the only company that takes simple mobile communication seriously, because we do not just offer large buttons and screens, but we produce mobile phones that people really want, like the emporiaElegance mobile phone – said the CEO of Emporia Telecom. She added that brands like Nokia and Samsung find the Croatian market not large enough to launch their models for seniors. On the other hand, cheaper Chinese copies that occasionally appear on the market cannot compete in quality with Emporia Telecom’s devices.

What does the Elegance model offer? It is a black device made of high-quality materials, whose main feature is that it is easy to use. The large color OLED display provides users with a high level of brightness and contrast. The mobile phone comes with several accessories such as a desktop charger with a speaker, a car charger, a leather case, and a strap attachment. In the near future, a version will also be produced that will have a built-in emergency call button. What does this mean? In case of emergency, pressing a special button will dial five pre-programmed numbers from the phone book and alternately call them until someone answers. The emergency button will work even when the keyboard is closed or when the user’s account is blocked due to the expiration of a prepaid card or non-payment of bills. In that case, instead of stored numbers, it will dial the international emergency number (112). Additionally, work is underway on developing a phone that will have a hearing aid built-in.
