Atlantic Grupa has signed a contract with Badel 1862 to acquire the company Kalničke vode Bio Natura. Atlantic is acquiring Kalničke vode for a total enterprise value of 82 million kuna.
Upon acquisition, Kalničke vode Bio Natura will be integrated within Atlantic’s Health and Care division. ‘The acquisition of Kalničke is yet another strategically important step in the development of Atlantic Grupa. By acquiring the bottling plant in Kalnik, we are securing the future of our product Cedevita GO!, creating conditions for stable production and expansion of the non-alcoholic beverage business, and with the gallon packaging of spring water, we are entering a new distribution channel that has great potential,’ stated Emil Tedeschi.
The business of Kalničke vode Bio Natura consists of three main pillars – the production of spring water, the production of mineral sparkling water, and the production and distribution of gallon packaging of spring water. In 2009, the company achieved sales worth 50.6 million kuna. After the acquisition, Kalničke vode will operate within Atlantic Grupa’s Health and Care division (which also includes Cedevita). Cedevita GO!, which has so far been bottled at Kalničke vode on a service basis, will gain new momentum by consolidating the entire production process within the company, as well as new growth opportunities arising from the synergies of the two companies.
Additional significant growth opportunities are opening up with the entry into the production and distribution of gallon packaging of spring water, as a growing segment in the water business. The potential for synergies with other segments of Atlantic Grupa’s business is greater, considering the possibility of developing a direct distribution channel to the end consumer, as stated in the press release.
