The French cosmetics giant L’Oreal has opened its first factory in Russia, where it will produce hair care products for key markets of the former Soviet Union.
The factory will produce shampoos, conditioners, and hair dyes for Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, said Pierre Haller, the company’s industrial director in Russia. The investment value was $26 million (€19 million), the director said at the opening of the factory in the industrial park in the Kaluga region southwest of Moscow. The production capacity is 120 million units in 2010, and that number will double next year, said L’Oreal Group’s business director Jean-Philippe Blanpain. Last year, L’Oreal in Russia, its eighth largest market, generated revenues of €563 million. (hrt.hr)
