Two MIG-21 aircraft of the Croatian Air Force crashed during a military exercise near Slunj. According to the latest information, both pilots successfully ejected and reported to the Command of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defense after landing with parachutes.
During the execution of the exercise of the Croatian Air Force and air defense at the military polygon Eugen Kvaternik in Slunj, in the area north above Plaški today around 12:50 PM, two MIG-21 aircraft had an accident in the air and both crashed, announced the Ministry of Defense (MORH) on its website. Defense Minister Branko Vukelić confirmed to reporters that the pilots were rescued and are on their way to the hospital for examination. He added that MORH has formed an Investigative Commission that has already departed from Lučko to the accident site. He denied that the accident occurred due to štednje.
