By the end of this week, an international tender will be announced in which the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, as the owner and founder of the Spa in Veli Lošinj, is exploring investor interest for a public-private partnership to invest in this healthcare institution, writes novilist.hr
As reported by County Prefect Zlatko Komadina, in order for the Spa to utilize all its spatial capacities on modern market principles, an investment of around 15 million euros is needed, with the County contributing its property and land of 12,500 square meters in an attractive location in Veli Lošinj, while the private partner would invest money in the renovation and expansion of the building. As stated at the regular press conference of the County Prefect, the call for expressions of interest for investment in the Veli Lošinj Spa Center will be open for 60 days, and the documentation will also be sent to the embassies of countries from which potential investors may come, instead of spending money on advertisements in international media.
However, the Prefect and the Head of the Health Department, Ivo Afrić, did not want to hint at who the investors might be, but they are confident that at least a few offers will arrive as there is constant inquiry about the institution located in an attractive area that is also designated in the spatial plan as an area for health tourism and hospitality, which includes 60,000 square meters of park-forest. The most important thing, Komadina announces, is that there will be medical activity there for the next thirty years, for which the public-private partnership contract is planned to be concluded.
