Presentation of the Croatian Economy at the Fair in Japan

The Croatian Chamber of Economy continues to promote the Croatian economy worldwide, and from September 22 to 26, in collaboration with the Croatian Tourist Board, it will represent Croatia in Tokyo.

At the press conference to be held on September 22 in Tokyo, the president of HGK, Nadan Vidošević, will speak about Croatia’s geostrategic advantages and investment opportunities, while the director of HTZ in Tokyo, Eduard Katayma, will present Croatia as a tourist destination. At the largest Japanese tourism fair, ‘JATA World Travel Fair’, from September 24 to 26, Croatia will be showcased with the award-winning exhibition ‘Be CROative’, through which the Chamber promotes quality Croatian products, world-renowned Croatian inventions and inventors, and Croatia as a country of innovative and creative people. Through the ‘Be CROative’ project, HGK will present the Croatian economy in Tokyo in an exhibition space of 100 square meters in the shape of two cubes, designed to symbolically represent Croatia. The multimedia exhibition of Croatian products based on the principle of ‘see, listen, feel’ will showcase Croatia at its best to the Japanese audience.

Numerous Croatian products bearing the labels ‘Original Croatian’ and ‘Croatian Quality’, as well as world-famous Croatian inventions, will be displayed in glass showcases, while a video wall will feature images of Croatian products accompanied by typical sounds of the sea, seagulls, crickets, and Dalmatian bells. The Chamber will present more than 40 Croatian products at the exhibition in Japan, holders of prestigious labels ‘Original Croatian’ and ‘Croatian Quality’. The showcases with Croatian products will be marked with a QR code (matrix two-dimensional barcode) behind which detailed information about the marked item is hidden. A mobile device with an integrated camera and accompanying application is sufficient to read the information. The QR code was invented in Japan, where it is also very popular, and HGK, by following developments and using modern technologies, aims to promote Croatian quality and the Croatian economy as a whole. The JATA World Travel Fair, with more than 100,000 visitors, is one of the largest tourism fairs in Asia. More than 130 countries and regions will present their countries and global tourism trends this year. Just last year, 699 exhibitors from 151 countries and regions showcased their offerings on an exhibition area of 26,000 square meters, attracting over 110,000 visitors. (M.N.)
