Ivan Mišetić, the director of Croatia Airlines, a company currently facing significant financial difficulties and expecting privatization, is leaving to join the Atlantic Group of Emil Tedeschi as the Secretary General.
This is a corporate function of exceptional importance within the Atlantic Group and involves activities related to communication with various professional associations, state and local representatives, coordination of the Supervisory Board and management activities, and representing Atlantic outside the borders of Croatia, in the countries where the company operates… Mišetić evidently received a very attractive financial offer from Atlantic when he decided to leave CA after so many years, where it is believed he also earned quite generously, although his salary has always remained a business secret to the public. Alternatively, he may have offered himself to Atlantic and timely arranged for his new position, given that, as in all state-owned companies, the composition of supervisory boards will change in Croatia Airlines, as members are now elected through a public competition that is concluding these days. In the CA Supervisory Board, there were mainly people from former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader’s administration (Miomir Žužul, Bianca Matković…), and the Government appoints directors of public companies through its representatives in the supervisory boards. Although it falls under the Ministry of Transport, insiders say that Minister Božidar Kalmeta had no influence over the national airline during the time of the former Prime Minister. The position of Secretary General at Atlantic Group was recently held by Joško Klisović, who is now the head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia. Tomislav Thür, who is now the Executive Director for Corporate Processes at INA, also held that position.
