MOL Group today denied reports from some Hungarian media stating that the company’s CEO Zsolt Hernádi would resign in a few weeks.
‘MOL Group clearly rejects claims that the President of the Management Board and CEO of MOL Group, Zsolt Hernádi, could step down from his leading position in the company. MOL Group is a joint-stock company in which only the General Assembly of the Company, through the appropriate voting procedure defined by law and the Statute, has the right to decide on the election, dismissal, and compensation of members of the Management Board (and Supervisory Board). Z. Hernádi was elected as a member of the Management Board at the General Assembly of the Company on April 23, 2008, until February 2014. There are no items on the Management Board’s agenda related to changes in this position, and the Management Board is authorized to decide on the position of the President of the Management Board. Zsolt Hernádi, as the President of the Management Board and CEO, continues to implement the accepted strategy of MOL Group’ – stated Dóra Somlyai, Vice President of MOL Group and Director of Corporate Communications. Citing several unnamed sources close to the situation, the Hungarian business newspaper Vilaggazdasag reported that Hernádi is preparing to resign in the coming weeks. (G. J.)
